Sundays to the Museum
A new programming proposed by the Museum of Tahiti and Islands.
The Museum of Tahiti, in partnership with the Cultural center and Artistique Arioi, will propose every first Sunday of the month some cultural workshops and a thematic guided tour . Come and join the unique culturel experience.
This activity, open to the Polynesian, to the families, but also to the tourist public, will allow the visitors to discover the collections of the Museum, with a guide prepared by the scientific teams of the Museum, but also to have a more participative approach of the heritage, thanks to cultural workshops, themes of which will be chosen according to the program of demonstration of the Museum
The first meeting ‘ rendez-vous’ is scheduled on Sunday, March 4th, from 9 hours around the theme of Tapa. The visitors will make a visit which will allow them to discover the collection dedicated to the Tapa , as well as a visit of the garden presenting essences necessary for the realization of the material, and its dye. The visit will be followed by a workshop, which will allow each to create own Tapa .
Will be also planned during the year severals workshops, such as percussions, preparation of elements of dance costumes, as well as cultural talks. . For every workshop, the material will be supplied, and the visits will be worked with the teams of the Museum to protect the quality from it.
