Te mau natira’a manureva no te mau motu, Les Ailes des îles

Exhibition on inter-island aviation from the 1950’s to the present day.

From January 18 to March 18, the  Museum will be hosting an exhibition on the history of Air Tahiti, which celebrates 60 years of air travel. Photographs of tracks in the islands, postcards of the old models of plane until the first seaplane, old posters, objects collectors … This  exhibition will return on the history of the inter-islands air links of the years 1950 to the present day.

Through this exhibition, Air Tahiti wishes to pay homage to the men of the past and to share with the greatest number an unknown history, contributing to the Polynesian collective memory. As part of the company’s 60th anniversary celebration in 2018, Air Tahiti is the initiator of an unprecedented exhibition in Polynesia “TE mau natira’a manureva NO TE MAU MOTU, The wings of the islands”, in collaboration with the association “Polynesian memory, Porinetia! Ha’amanao! “.

The association “Polynesian memory, Porinetia! Ha’amanao! Is responsible for the organization of the event and has attached itself to the services and knowledge of Mr. Jean-Louis SAQUET, reference in matters aeronautics since the first issue of his book “Aviation in Tahiti”, in 2009. In this context, a call for collection has been launched to the public … The testimonies and the sharing of memories will enrich this exhibition. An 80-page commemorative book will also be published.

Air Tahiti, through this exhibition, wished to pay homage to the men of the past and to share with the greatest number an unknown history, thus contributing to the Polynesian collective memory.

Rates: 800 xpf temporary showroom entrance, free for school and students.
